When someone who has a documented history of impaired driving is involved in a single-car accident, recently underwent surgery, and very recently appeared on TV looking impaired...well, it isn't a giant leap to speculate the cause of the accident might have been due to impairment.

Sorry guys but he's done for awhile.  It will take him at least a year to recover from 2 broken legs, not to mention he was recovering from his most recent back surgery.  He looked pretty out of it when they interviewed him last week.  One thing I do understand is that with everything that's happened to him lately, he was probably suffering from major depression.  I wish him a speedy recovery.

Just some observations from 33 years of responding to accidents.  The car hit a median, went through the median and took out a fairly large sign.  Then it went several hundred feet in the opposite direction of a divided road, went off the road and into the vegetation area, where it rolled unknown times.  From the aerial footage, there was no obvious skid marks to show hard braking.  Looks like he was hauling a** and made little to no actions to control or slow the vehicle.  Sad.

Really? That's your response? Yes, there has "only" been one other instance of him driving under the influence and being arrested. Is that how youre defending his actions? Hes lucky he didnt kill anyone the first time and hes lucky no one was killed this time.

Yeah, no point in speculating about impairment at this moment.  But definitely sad and disappointing it seems his competitive career is over so abruptly in this fashion.

Another vague observation, but the vehicle looks pretty intact, the front and rear are crunched pretty good, but the passenger compartment looks like it held up well as it should have.  That makes me think that he likely wasn't belted to receive multiple leg fractures.  Just guessing...

Anyway, hopefully no one here really wishes the worse for TW, regardless of the cause.  We will know soon enough; I am sure TMZ is trying to "buy" the blood test results as I type this.

 

Ultimately, TW does not need me to tell him he f'd up, or anyone else, the mirror will do just fine.  And if the price is the end of golf, well...that sucks for fans, a terrible way to end it, but it's just golf.  Tour will still play this week...

 

As others pointed out, yes, lucky no one else was hurt, we all should take this as a serious lesson learned if not for ourselves, but tell someone you know with an issue, put the keys away when impaired; it's no joke.

 

And those clinging to a Hoganesque comeback, you definitely need to put the keys away!

Watching the aerial footage and was shocked when I noticed all of what you mentioned. Sad but true.

I hope he's OK health wise.  From a golf perspective I think this sounds like career-ender as a true contender even at the Masters.  Hogan was 36 when he had his car wreck.

Thoughts and prayers, at least not life threatening sounding. Eerily similar to what Ben Hogan went thru with the bus accident.

 

At TW's age and with his injury history however I'd gather that will be it for his competitive golf career. It was an amazing career nonetheless and put him squarely in any GOAT conversation.

People forgive Tiger so fast for his driving under the influence. The last DUI people forgot about real quick because he started playing golf again. Tiger could kill someone DOA behind the wheel and people would make excuses for him.

I don't really understand the rush to judgement , we will literally find out what happened. Let's just wait a day and we'll know everything about the crash. Why speculate? You speculate on things you aren't going to find out for certain, this we will find out for certain

 

I liken it to trash talking before an MMA fight which i also never understood. It's like "you guys are going to actually fight, why are you speculating about whether you could beat him up....we will literally find out if you can!"
