I literally burst out laughing , and then rolled it back and watched again. I hope the guy is ok.  But I’ve never seen the cameraman with the current shot go down like that , in any sport.  Cracked me up.

This event (and a lot of other match play events too) are always nightmare scenarios for sponsors and TV. Either you have a pair of unknowns in the final, or the match ends 90 minutes early and TV has lots of dead air to fill.

love the event, but Azinger keeps repeating "everything about this (insert putt, approach, drive) is about putting pressure on the opponent" over, and over and over again. That and his inane commentary are a drag.

While that might be true, the average sports fan will be watching March Madness, while real golf fans have the smarts to know who is playing what.

I admit I wasn't playing super close attention to Fleetwood's OB tee shot on #12. Did he have to go back to the tee box for his 3rd shot? Or was he allowed to drop with a 2-stroke penalty?

 

If the latter, is there a local rule in effect for OB balls (or is that now standard on Tour)?

OB is always a replay for tournament play at any high level of golf.

That's what I was thinking, too. I must've just missed his trip back to the tee box and his shot from there. It just happened so quickly (or a TV commercial got in the way), that I missed it.

 

I was just looking for confirmation of what he actually did.

With three Pac12 teams playing and nobody that really excites me remaining in the match play. I’ll most likely make my main focus the basketball tomorrow. Check the golf during commercials and half.

There has been some godawful boring golf these last 2 weeks. Maybe this is god testing our patience and we will be rewarded with Tiger Woods winning the Masters in 2023.
