What's your handicap and what 3wood are you playing?

fwiw i thought the sim2 was less forgiving than the original sim; and since i use it off the tee almost exclusively - having that little bit larger head was beneficial to me.

I can still get it off the deck if i had to. my fav taylormade 3w of all time was the m2 tour head with the weight up front. it was small but man was that thing a ballspeed beast.

I hit the sim.ti and just didn't get along with it. The sim2 ti was really,  really close all around to my 17m2. Launch was a touch higher. Spin was a touch higher. Ball.speed was a touch higher. Directional control was pretty much the same. But that's launch monitor only. We know there's launch monitor, range, and on course and they're often all a bit different...lol.

I only put 3wood on a tee if I need to hit a draw. Any other time I kick up a small grass tee and pound a hard fade. Only reason I'm testing the sim2 ti is to be able to have the face a touch open.

So far so good on 1 range session. Swingweight was light so I need to touch that up.

Current GHIN index 6.5 anywhere from 5.5-6.5 so far this season.

Put a Cobra f9 tour baffler set at 15* in the bag this year with tour AD DI 8x -- coming off of playing for many years an old school '07 TM Burner TP with speeder 757s -- still have it in the back up bag and occasionally put the Burner in the bag set at 14.5* with the Cobra turned down to 12* for off the tee depending on the course and playing conditions. Nice to have options and more than one reliable 3W IMO.

My handicap has been so bad lately. Currently at a 14.4 from an 8.8 last season. But that being said, I use a SIM Ti 15 degrees, one notch up from standard with a Tensei blue AV RAW 60 s driver shaft off a SIM2 cut down 1.5 inches.

It’s a rocket off the tee and deck. Seems to be more consistent than my driver at times...

HC-7

Just bought the Titleist TSi2 fwy with Ventus Blue shaft.  Only played 2 rounds with it so far, and I like it.  Easy to elevate and extremely long.  I otherwise have the Mavrik Subzero fwy and that is a great 3 wood as well.  We will see if the Titleist beats it.

LEFT HANDED

Titleist TSR3 with Metaflex 5H shaft (currently testing the Proxima 6 stiff shaft)
Titleist TSR2 16.5 degree fwy with Ventus Red 7 stiff shaft
Ping G430 19 and 22 degree hybrids with Ventus Blue HB 8 stiff shaft
Srixon ZX7 mkii 5-PW with Fuji Axiom 105 stiff shafts

Titleist SM9 50F, 54D, 58T wedge with Fuji Axiom 105 stiff shafts
L.A.B. MEZZ Max putter with LAGP putter shaft

+1

EFSZ @ 14 degree w/ Ventus Velo Blue 7x tipped 1.5 inches - Basically an off the tee club or a very rare long second shot over 280 into a par 5

Main going for the green club is a Rogue SZ tour issue 5w w/ Tour AD TP 8X tipped 2 inches playing 42". Thing goes super high without ballooning. Lands soft. Made a great eagle with it a few days ago.

I'm a 6 and game a Cally Mavrik w/ a Rogue White 130 M.S.I.

My best results came with a Cally Rogue w/ Aldila Synergy shaft, made the mistake of selling it and trying a SIM Max D, and now I'm back to Cally in the 3W and Driver spots. Gotta go with what works!

15 and using the big Cobra one...speedzone big tour, big a**, big whatever. I have it cranked down to 12* and just use it as a mini driver at times. My home course doesn’t really warrant a 3 wood off the deck ever so it’s probably the least used club in my bag. Wanting to figure something out between driver, 3 wood and my 56/60. I’m thinking i could easily drop a wood and a wedge and be fine as I never use both woods and seem to never really use my 56.

Also a 15 right now. Don't play a 3 wood but a Mavrik 4 wood at 16.5* with a rogue white 130 70S. It has enough of a meaningful distance gap from my driver off the tee and I'm finding I can hit it about as well as the 5 wood it replaced off the deck, though that is a shot/situation I try not to put myself in.

I too use my 56 most of the time out of all my wedges, but if I go play a course with faster greens the 60 does really come in handy. I am also finding that its a great smooth, high 45-50 yard shot that drops and stops.

We're going on a Minimalist Adventure who knows were we'll end up:

Technically a 2.8, but recent play has me feeling more like a 10, lol.

I don't have a lot of experience hitting a ton of other 3 woods, but one flush swing with my current TS3 setup (15 deg w/ Tour AD DI 7x) and I retired my 20 year old SonarTec then and there.

I'm a 4.7 (and creeping up...yikes!) and I play a TS2 15 deg with PX Even Flow White 6.0 (stock weight...75?). In a fairway wood, I want high launch, easy to hit off the turf, good secondary tee club. It's perfect for all of it.

I'm gaming a Callaway Mavrik 3+ with an Evenflow Riptide 6.0 stiff, but sometimes I throw in my old Nike Covert 2.0 adjustable.  I still get tons of distance with it on tight par 4's, but love the look of the Mavrik as well.
