Hope I don't jinx this but the ten day forecast for Charleston on Wunderground is looking great.

Come on PGA, dry and fast.  Not sure how I feel the surrounds should be presented.  Read an article where initially the green surrounds were kept short and the ball ran out and away but it was actually easier for good golfers that way.  He came back in and advised letting the surrounds grow enough where the ball wouldn't roll out and this created some uncertainty in the lies.

How do you get fans on and around a course where many of the holes have marsh on each side?

Yep.  We’ve got sun and heat through next Monday it seems.  I think maybe possibly 90 for the first time this year on Saturday . I’m 4 hours north in the upstate.  Usually temps are 4/5 degrees hotter down there. But you get the breeze so feels better.  So far ( fingers crossed ) it’s not humid.  But you have to watch. Weather forecast if it says “ relatively low humidity “ here.  That means it’s 95 /% humidity instead of 110%. 😂.

I thought conducting a hostage rescue would be difficult until I played Rainbow Six on Playstation and watched 7 Days in Entebbe on BluRay.  Doesn't seem all that hard, to be honest.

And here I thought you kids played those games for days at a time and you figured it out just like that…congrats to you.

I guess it boils down to my question of why the course qualifies to host a major other than length and weather. As an example I found Pinehurst #2 very frustrating…on the sim so not EVERY course is easy.

Slope rating is higher than pinehurst ... by a good bit ... I’ve played both ... they both share whatever traits a “quality” or highly rated golf course requires ... routing, playability, greens - whatever ... there’s some width in the driving areas, here and there, and it can be firm and a bit linksy, but it has a good bit of dye’s visual discomfort, off the tee and into the green ... but many greens are at least a bit elevated, if not more ... no wind, they could be -15, sure ... it’ll still be a great course to watch ...

It looks so intimidating. I’m about a 10 and I think I’d need 100 shots and a dozen balls to get through a round.

Could prob go low on a simulator though 🙂

Chopping and changing putters is not a great sign. Seems that he putts his best when he has nothing in the back of his mind saying that he should be using a different one. I am going to go out and say, DJ is not winning this week.

Headed to the practice round on Tuesday. Should be a good time, great weather.

You'll have to let me know how bad traffic is as I am heading out there on Thursday. Trying to decide how early to leave to hopefully miss a good amount of the traffic. Hopefully can't be any worse than 2012... Hopefully with the reduced capacity it helps!

They'll have to be careful with how much they dry it out.  If you get a really windy couple of days you could get some of those seaside holes unplayable.  If these guys are firing long irons into some of these greens you have to be able to have them hold.

If the wind comes as forecasted, there will be no issues with regards to this being a good test.

Why do they "have to be able to hold" and not actually shot-make and take spin off and run them up? I know the pros absolutely hate it but give me carnage once and awhile. As much as I love a birdiefest give me at least a few tournaments a year where most of the field is over par.
