I swore years ago I would never buy another TM or Callaway driver when they started releasing new models every 6-12 months (or so it seemed) and I liked Ping stuff better anyway. 

TM started catching my eye with the M3\4 models as I am getting tired of the "industrial" look of Ping and Titleist, etc. 

To me the SIM line is "Transformer" looking and it didn't out perform my G400,

but it was right there with it. Gonna pick up a SIM 1 or 2 head in the future, already know what shafts work for me. And look forward to the new model just don't make it to Star Wars looking. Ha

If you're a fan of PING stuff for performance/forgiveness reasons then definitely look into tweaking the weight on the OG SIM. Dropping the front weight down to 4G and pumping up the rear weight really stabilizes the SIM in a way that a PING dude would appreciate. It increases MOI/forgiveness a ton given how far back the rear weight is but the low CG and shallower face still keeps the spin low. Killer combo IMO and i'll always recommend it, especially if you're anti-left (as a righty).

I saw some sort of prototype some guy had at a golf shop in Palm Desert and the bottom had a very similar design to the current Sim 2 but it said "SOLO" on the bottom. The guy said he got it from a friend who worked in R&D at Taylormade.  But who knows, I'm sure TM has a ton of working prototypes and this one could have easily been an older proto as well.

Highly doubtful.

Though I can't tell you how much I would love the PGA to pick and choose one adapter as the only conforming one going forward. I despise that every manufacturer has their own.

If we're tossing out ideas, I can't find a reference to a driver called "Boost." Shoes and phones yeah but no clubs. Maybe a Boost driver with the Burner "B" font and a Stage 1, Stage 3, Stage 5 like rocket boosters for your driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, etc.  Get the Hyper Drive shaft. Or pair up with SpaceX and go Falcon 9, etc. They already did the 3 wood "Rocket." 

 

"SF" models for solid fuel and "LF" models for liquid fuel. SF for the "MAX" type design. LF for the players version. (once you light a solid fuel rocket you can't undo it. So its the balls to the wall distance model.)

I hear that!  I'm hoping to hear something soon.  I cracked the face on my Sim, they sent me a Sim2 replacement. Now I'm debating if I should sell the Sim2 and put the money towards what's next, or just bag the new one. It's tough looking at a brand new driver and not playing it.

Absolutely love that @TaylorMade Golf& @Fujikura Golf both answer questions and troll members on here! It's amazing to see and not alot of places where big business listen to some rabid obsessive fans like all of us WRX'ers so it is very much appreciated! Also @GolfWRX_Official appreciate the forum to have such convo's! It's going to be hard to beat my SIM2 & Ventus Blue setup from this year for a couple generations of drivers IMO.

i have to hand it to TM...they are always tight lipped right to the very deadline. I've already seen the new callaway lineup. Be interested to see what TM brings to the table. Funny that the R9 advertised 75 yards of left to right movement(35 with just the weights i think and another 40 with the hosel adjustment) and even the superquad had 28 yards. The epic max advertised 20 yards 14 years later. I'd like MWT to come back to the TM lineup. 5 weight ports and 1 right behind the face on the sole please and thanks.

One must remember that trademark postings can often be defensive, to keep a competitor from using it (ie. Carbonwood and Matrixwood). Trademarks can be used as descriptors for a new product or technology for a new product.   Stealth could be a good Trademark and while they may surprise me, I don't expect it to be part of the name in the next generation metal woods, it could be a nod to the next generation (late 2022/early 2023). One must not forget that some of these "working" names are also cover for prototypes. So the "Solo" reference may be true. But it most assuredly won't be the name of a new product. Interestingly the only major golf companies that draw any interest in new trademarks are TaylorMade and Callaway!  I can't say anything more.
