Ever bought the same club twice?

Just saw a fairway wood on eBay that I once owned, swapped shafts, then sold on GolfWRX.  It's now back on eBay and I nearly clicked the Buy It Now button but recognized the shaft and pulled my finger off the trigger.  Who's ready to admit they've bought the same club twice?  🙂

Only clubs I bought twice were purely intentional, as a backup, never as a mistake. The guys that do so unintentionally crack me up…

I've done it once.  I fell in love with the FT-9 TA back in the day and had to have a back up.  I ended up gaming both.  They were both 9* but one had the DI the other had the Motore Speeder TS.

I read it as OP meant the exact same club.

 

I myself have not bought the exact same club. But I sold clubs back to the original owner.  I don't think he realized that he originally sold me the clubs as he did not remember me when we did the in person exchange...

Got a complete backup set of my whole game bag back in 2016-17. 

 

Ping G 9* tour S shaft x2 plus spare LS tec 9* head also

Ping G SFT 3w + normal G 3 wood (could chop and change as I saw fit) both had tour S shaft

Ping G 22* hybrid tour S x2 

Callaway Apex UT 21* C Taper X x2

Callaway Apex CF 16 4-AW x2

Callaway PM grind 56* + 58* x2 of each.

Ping Cadence putter x2

 

The only difference between gamer bag and practice bag was different grips. 

 

Sold or traded in a few of the clubs but still have a couple of the drivers all the PMs and the backup set of my beloved CF16s.

Exact same club? Twice.

Once was a G20 driver that I sold to the local second hand golf shop and bought a different driver from them. Realised the G20 was better, so about a week later I went back and sold the other driver and bought the G20 back. Think I lost a few thousand yen on that.

 

The other occasion was basically the same circumstances, except it was a set of Mizuno irons. On that occasion, I realised my mistake quickly and bought the irons back the next day. Took a bath on that one.

 

Recently, I noticed an old Anser 3 putter that I had owned and sold a few years ago back in the shop. It had the same grip I put on it when I bought it, and the same green mark on the sole (it was a BeCu or something head). I picked it out, hit some putts with it and remembered why I sold it. Me and plumbers neck Ansers don't get on.

iBlades. Bought them three times in the 7 years they've been around. If I can find another set in great condition it'll be four times.

The exact same club. The G400 Max was my all time favorite driver. I got horny for the Cobra Speedzone right at the beginning of the pandemic and sold my G400 here to fund one.  The buyer bought it because he regret selling his. I didn't like the Cobra at all. Turns out the guy I sold it to couldn't find the magic with mine and sold it back to me for the same cost he bought it for. But she was mad at me for selling her and was never the same...

 

I ended up moving on....

Bought numerous models of both the R510 TP driver and Rescue Mid TP hybrids.  Absolutely the best at their time and arguably still very relevant when it comes to the Rescue Mid hybrid.  I don’t know if TM has ever topped that one.

Lol. I bought the same set of irons twice in the same week.  And if I could find them I’d buy them a third time. ( raw vega mB hand ground prototypes.  4-pw with tar heel blue paint fill in the numbers and otherwise blank , no other stamps  )

   I've bought back the exact same clubs a couple of times, it was just vacationing at Nevada Bob's.  On numerous occasions I have bought duplicates of the same equipment, for some reason I always like to have 2 complete bags of what I'm playing.

My three wood, MP Titanium. Fell out of favor about a year after I picked it up and I bought something else. It languished in my trunk for awhile until one day a buddy has his three wood cave during a practice round for a tournament, I remembered I had the the old Mizuno in the trunk and lent it to him. He asked the next day how much I wanted for it and I sold it to him for a princely sum - $1. 5 years later I was at his house and saw it in a bag full of old clubs in the corner. Pulled it out and set it down and fell back in love immediately. Bought it back for $1. Even eventually found a 5 wood to match and some matching shafts. Still haven’t found anything that I like even close to as much.

Sold a 2014 Scotty Fastback to a guy on Kijiji. Regretted it as soon as I sold it. Searched for a couple of years to find another one and found one listed on Kijiji. It was the same guy so I bought it back. Cost me $100 more! 😠

Yes. Tour issue TM R580XD TP driver. Weren't many made in left hand. Sold it on Ebay. Couple years later saw one listed on Ebay and bought it. Knew it was the one I had sold as there was a particular mark on the clubhead. Still have it.

I think i've had 7 or 8 Odyssey 'Rossie' putters over the years.

 

No 9 isn't out of the question as yet 🤣

I've bought the same club or clubs (iron set) a few times.  As for same model but not same club, many times.  4x 905R's 9.5* with the 76S V2.  Recently picked up my third set of I210s.
