If your livelihood depended on shooting good scores what clubs are you using?

I know what you're trying to ask, but the only answers this group of Gumby's is going to give you are going to be tongue in cheek. I appreciate that.  It's a false choice to choose either function or aesthetic.  There are literal dozens upon dozens that give you both.  That's one of a couple of problems with your question and why you won't get many good responses without clarification.

Knowing that, I'll try to answer honestly---  If I HAD to make money in golf, as a professional, on the PGA Tour--- I would choose the manufacturer that paid me the most to play their clubs.  If nobody paid me to play their clubs I imagine I'd be like Bubba Watson and play the same thing I had previous success with. Like @Hawkeye77 said, they currently don't exist. Nor does any other part of this scenario.  I like make believe.

**Disclaimer: I reserve the right to update my make believe answers when new make believe clarifying information becomes available.

The clubs in my bag that I have now....all PING.

Like most WRX'ers I'm 110% into this game and buy the clubs that allow me to play my best and enjoy the game the most. I want to shoot the best scores I can regardless of playing status.

Also there have been many Pro's who went for the dough and their scores went up.

For me it would be any club that has the most forgiveness that I can still spin.  Currently I game the T100's (not the newest version) and I've shot 66 in a state tourney, and I've also shot 85 in a state tourney.   So, not so sure that a club is going to make the biggest difference.  It will come down to your swing fundamentals and how well you can repeat your swing.  Also, the mental side is way more important that clubs.  If you're mentally strong and could take the pressure of playing for a living, then the irons really don't matter.  just my opinion...

Honestly what I have now cause I don't know anything better, maybe a loft and lie check before to make sure it's all dialed in but what I was fitted for is the best I could play. I'm sure now there are other things better for me now if I went to get fit again but I don't know it as well as I do my current setup.

If I have a hardware contract, then that's what I'm playing. Otherwise it's the clubs in my bag because they are what I feel good playing.

Great question, cause I switch my clubs around all the time for pure enjoyment. Since our member/member Championship flight calcuta get up to 5 figures, and the flight I play in gets to 5-7k, I suppose I can state this with some accuracy.

This made me stop and think a bit. I would ask in this way. If my living depended on how close I was to shooting my handicap- what equipment changes would I make?

I would shift to slight more forgiving irons and driver and leave the rest the same. Nothing too dramatic, but I tend to buy something fitting for my good days rather than bad days. On my good days I would lose some ability to shape shots - but that more for fun than to shoot lower scores.

Very interesting question. My top choice for signing a contract would be the following:

1) TaylorMade

2) Srixon

Because those are the manufacturers whose equipment I prefer. But if Callaway, Titleist, PING, or any other OEM was paying me, I could get equipment adjusted to my specs that would absolutely work!

I like my current bag a lot…just need more testing on my SIM2 Driver to get it dialed in, will be testing a Driving Iron to knock out one of my Hybrids, and will test a different Iron set over the Winter to see if it can knock out my ZX7’s (doubtful).

I see no real world correlation between a particular club brand and a successful pro career. The real world answer is many pros play what they are paid to play- makes sense to me.

I would play the clubs I'm playing now. Get new wedges every 3 months. Spend 8-9 hours practicing every day I'm not playing and 4-5 hours the days that I do play.

Well, The set of irons that I played my absolute best golf with were Titleist 681T irons. So I guess those.

A Ping G whatever MAX driver, likely cut down to 44.5” for accuracy purposes (but probably my 3 wood would go just as far) but it must also come with a set of earplugs. The rest of my set would be just fine.

I am sorry, this is way to logical of a response. For that I think you need to be banned for like two weeks. Please consider your words more carefully next time.
