I see a lot of current tsi2 and 3 driver players staying with current gamers. Basically indistinguishable other than slightly different look to the sole. Unless they release some info on hidden tech or noticeable moi increases, there wouldn’t be any reason whatsoever to switch. And that’s coming from someone who looks for any reason to switch.

TSI3 driver is top of line and still overall the best overall driver out IMO. Strictly speaking to driver 2 and 3 models, I think titleist missed the mark on this line. Unless for some insane reason they aren’t hoping for current tsi2-3 users to make the switch.

I can see that, the TSR3 would have to be outstanding for me to switch. I do need a new fairway wood though…

As with most driver releases these days i'm going to be most curious about CG location and MOI and whatever little tech stories there are (usually not huge with Titleist). The general trend has been to inch things higher in the MOI department while trying to keep CG down. The TS3 was hot, low CG, a little unstable, and draw biased in neutral settings with the TSi3 being a reaction to that by increasing MOI and swapping towards more of a fade bias along with the new weight track and the ATI face. I'm guessing the TSr3 is going to be another incremental MOI increase, so a little more stable, and will split the difference and be neutral in terms of CG bias this time around with a little tech story somewhere to try to sell it as an improvement over the TSi3. Cantlay has one in the bag as a notable TS3 hold out with the weight slightly towards the heel, if he sticks with that then IMO that's a good indication of the head being more neutral than the TSi3 which he obviously passed over.

I think the bigger changes will likely be in the 2 and the 4 given that they have more room to mess with those without upsetting all the TSi3 fans looking for "more of the same just a little 'better'". No idea what to expect with those though, hah. They all look classy as expected, no 907 series curveballs here. 😅

Problem is they charge you full price even if you order just the club head.

Yeah, this only makes sense if you already have a collection of premium shafts on hand to stick in

I missed the updated TSr4 pics, that one has me the most intrigued now:

Having a front and rear weight is a pretty big change, both for the "4" model itself and for Titleist in general. I can see this being a play to give the 4 more flexibility for players wanting what is assumedly a more compact head shape while being able to increase forgiveness and stability (lighter weight front, heavier weight hear). This is basically what Scott Piercy did to his TSi4 by dropping the front weight and having hotmelt added to the rear of the head, something this sole shape would allow for as well without raising CG. Super interesting and I suspect this might get more tour use as a result. I thought with the last release that the smaller, low spin models were going to fade away like the Taylormade "Tour" models did so interesting to see Titleist double down and iterate on them to make them more usable and "friendlier".

To add onto this theory, it makes me wonder if it would be at all possible to make the 4 spin closer to the 3, and benefit from the lower COG to essentially make a higher launching TSR3 that spins a tiny bit less.

Possibly, but I suspect it will simply bring it closer CG wise to the TSr3 overall, just with whatever different footprint the 4 has. It makes sense to have this sort "passing the baton" approach with moveable weight when balancing multiple models where the extremes of one model stop where the next begins. The 3 gives you heel/toe CG adjustability and the 4 gives you multiple weights for front/back adjustability with the option of decreasing one or both and using hotmelt to move heel/toe if needed for the tour guys. Having more discretionary weight in the 4 (i'm assuming it will be something like 9g front, 3g rear) creates a lot of options, and a sole shape that allows for the weight to be moved back while staying low is awesome. I can see an 8* version with all the weight crammed low and back being a great stable bomber for some guys.

That thing does look nasty...in a good way! My 915Fd has been safe in the bag for 6-7 years but for the first time ever, it should be looking over it's shoulder.

The + looks bigger, different CG. I'm speculating here but I think probably geared more towards being a second option off the tee. "Mini driver-ish."

Some very enticing options to switch back to Titleist.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
