Anything throwback you’d like to see revived?

Any clubs or features from older models that you’d like to see incorporated into a newer model?

 

I always thought the copper color on some of the original Taylormade burners was pretty cool, wouldn’t mind seeing a modern day TM fairway wood in that throwback copper. 460 cc’s of it might be a bit much, but I think the smaller heads look cool.

 

Another one would be the shape and look of the RAC MB’s incorporated with some P770/790 type tech, hollow body, faster faces in a similar package. 
 

So how about you sideburns? Anything you’d like to see make a comeback? That is all, thanks and make lot of birdies!

Honestly, no. Golf equipment doesn't seem like the right place for reissues. 

 

I can't think of a single club that isn't either available on Ebay or readily available in some improved form today. 

 

Generally in golf, if it's good, it sticks.

 

 

Gun to my head? I guess some sort of fairway metal since those don't really go out of fashion. I always loved the Nike VR Pro Limited Edition 5w.

Nothing golf club related, but I would love to have the Rule Book rolled back to pre-1990.  Back then every word meant exactly what it meant.  I find the current Rules to be dumbed down.  They have simplified it, but I don't think they have improved on the clarity of the Rules.  I think that most of the Rule changes have been good.  I just liked the way the old Book was written.  Cut and dried if you took the time to read it and think it through.  No reason you should have to dumb it down because people are lazy.

Was just thinking the other day whether smaller driver heads could come back into demand. A few companies have offerings in the 430-440cc range (AFAIK). But would be interested in hitting something closer to 400cc with all the modern tech and construction.

It'd be good to have balatas and wound balls available again, but that's because I still play with persimmon clubs sometimes.

 

BeCu PING EYE2 BeCu irons, or even just the SW and LW, with legal grooves would be nice, though that won't happen for the reason @dugue4 gave.

The carbon Scotty Cameron putters back when they felt special. I still can’t find a better feeling combination than a Titleist Professional hitting a carbon putter. 
 

Copper finishes on wedges like my old Clevelands. I know some companies have had these out a few times but of course never for lefties. 
 

I think the advancement of technology is unstoppable but growing up playing the Titleist Professional and the like, the game felt more fun to me. This makes me sound like the oldest sun 40 person on the planet but the smaller club heads and spinny golf balls seemed to really differentiate players.
 

I still love golf but it’s pretty different now. So, I guess I just think of the minor details that could be brought back like the finishes or the materials. 
 

oh - and the Tabasco shirts. Those need to come back.

Steelhead sole on a modern jailbreak head + AI head.  They released one pre-Jailbreak in 2017 I think but it was completely overshadowed by the original Epic release and XR'16 the year previous so much so that most people didn't even know it existed.  Most of the Tour guys use the Max LS TD T head, which is essentially this.  Its a deeper face and narrower length fairway.  Add the tri-sole the Steelhead had with the Jailbreak and AI facecup, you'd have a fairway wood that would interact with the turf so easily but get up and go all day long.  There is not one fairway wood on the market right now that has good turf interaction, IMO.  They are all too large and flat for most users.
