Is he a future GOAT contender? He has all the game for sure. I would say he HAS to win a major this year to really go on that trajectory.

I think maybe you have Jones confused with Ben Hogan......It was Hogan who wore the funny looking hat from time to time......

Bobby Jones was a helluva basketball player for the 76'ers in 70's. Think he averaged double digit points and was an all star a few times. This is probably what the OP is referring to in his post.

Even if he has the best chance of doing it among all active players, his probability of doing it is essentially zero.

Nobody wins four majors in a single year anytime soon. IMO we are fortunate to be watching one of the strongest and deepest group of golfers to ever be on the tour at one time. That is the reason when this same feat is mentioned for TW this year I think it is ludicrous! There are just too many that have the legitimate game to win majors right now. Does Bryson have the game to win a major this year....I certainly think so but so does: Rose, DJ, Rahm, JT, Spieth, Koepka, Phil, TW, and at least 10 more. They obviously won't all win but they all have enough game to win. Much different field than when TW was in his prime!!

I'm just wondering if a load of junior golfers all start arm locking ala Bryson, how long will it be before the ruling bodies look to ban it. Bryson's got a way to go before being compared to Bobby Jones I think.

Does it count as four majors in the same year if the player cannot complete his rounds before the year runs out?
