I believe the World long drive event winners are usually in the 450+ yard total.  Bryson probably can hang pretty close to them with a 48" driver.

He has some advantages over the other guys:

 

• He gets to play 4 majors per year, this is fun for him and the money is small change. His competitors are playing in their major.
• He will draw a complete media circus to the event, the likes of which his competitors are not used to but he deals with every week.

As of yet there in no television scheduled for this event. This is not the same World Long Drive tour that Golf Channel owns, has up for sale, has not held an event since 2019 and is done for good. It does seem that they stream their events. Not sure if all of the big names from the WLDA are on the Pro Long Drive tour.

What would your point be ?   Plenty of folks stop snd gawk at a car accident on the interstate.  But nobody is pro wrecks on the interstate.  It’s a spectacle.  Of course we will watch. But viewers doesn’t equal good for the game.  We could get more viewers with bikini clad announcers on every tee and a halftime break with mud wrestling , but I don’t think that helps the game as a whole.  Just makes someone more $. 
 

Bryson should just go do long drive.  He’s obviously not interested in being #1 in golf.  ( my opinion).

OEM's are going to love this.  A whole new market of 48" shafts touting fifty more yards.  Redesigns of driver faces touting fifty more yards.  Ergonomic nanotech engineered grips touting fifty more yards.

It is 2 days after the Ryder Cup.  He'll be training with the 48" driver a bit, which won't help his game for the Ryder Cup.

Yep. Had my second incident with a group two holes over blasting of all things , a Shania Twain song from their cart.  4 grown men listening to that , plus being outside of a mental hospital, does not mix.

That’s right. I’ve seen him hot it 135 and 335. He really could have putted with it too.  Talk about minimalist!

I’m sure Bryson cares a lot more about individual success in a long drive comp than an arbitrary team competition between a continent and a country.

lol. I see how that reads.   I meant. That it would be ok for them to listen to that inside an institution….. it maybe part of the therapy. But outside we have to act like reformed adults.  Adults that have a tad bit of taste and decorum.

I've got no issue with music on the course, but a private course feels like a line where it shouldn't be, at least not where everyone can hear.

 

Also BDC has no chance in this.
