Your 7 iron distance and shaft

Not nearly as far as anyone else here!  G15 7i 32* carries 135 with AWT R.

 

I'm 41 years old and through lots of bicycling and improved diet over the last year, I am in the best shape of my life at 5'10" 174 lbs.  I feel I'm reasonably strong, but it does not translate very well to golf distance.

Don't sweat it, Dave. I'm reasonably fit and with the steel shaft, I was carrying 140. But I am not swinging hard, I am making solid contact.

 

My 7 iron might only go 150, but I can put it to within 20 feet of where I wanted. As long as I can count on those yards, that all that I care about.

I was going to say something similar - everyone reply back with their SPIN numbers.  I'm generally in the ~1000rpm per iron camp where 7 iron is 7000+, 6 iron 6000+, etc.

 

to answer original question, I carry my PXG Gen3 P 7iron 165-170 yards with low 7000s spin as I have a steep AOA of 6 deg for this club according to Trackman.

I was using tp5x but didn't like the low spin so changing to Bridgestone tour bxs for this season so expect the spin number to increase a bit and the carry number to decrease.

I typically get about 223-227 carry out of my 23* 7 iron, which is shafted with an Aldila NV85 stiff.

 

My 34* 7 iron carries 150-155 with DGSL300S.

In regular shafts here too. 32 degree carry 145. There are so many guys who can hit all clubs so far anymore. It is fun to watch and horrendous to play against.

Sorry don't do Trackman but I've averaged 7K-8K range balls per year for last 5 years. Always was 155 with traditional #7i. Last two years I've upped yardages.  It pays to learn how to lay the shaft down and present hands properly at impact.

That was me on 2 today. My ball mark exploded.

My 620 MB & CB 7i's are 35', carry 144-148yds, and shafted with Tensei AV White AM "S", HIGH bend.  Oh, I am an ole guy. 🙂
