I’ve had 2 putters since 1998…3 since I started playing golf around 1990.

I have not bought a "new" putter, but I got 4 this year to try different styles.

I'm always on the look out for a good deal on used ones. I've picked up 3 putters in the past year. 2 Scotty Pro-Platinums with the mid-slant neck and I got a Toulon Columbus head off eBay and built my current gamer by adding a LAGP shaft to the Toulon. I've been putting lights out since I've put it in the bag.

I have had my two ball tank in the bag for 7 years now and it will still be in the bag 10 years from now as it took me so long to put my trust in it and get it fitted right that I refuse to go through that process again unless that putter is head over heels better than what I have.  I  used to be scared to even change the grip as I thought it would mess up the putter.  I now get it when I saw Jordan Speith with a grip on his putter that had been on there so long that you couldn't even tell that it was a super stroke grip anymore!! I keep my clubs until I beat the face off of them and this putter will be no different (gonna take a while to do that!)"

How many months in the year? Let’s start there. The key with putters is to use them when they are new, leave the price tags on them and don’t fall in love with them I believe they all have a shelf life, mine are usually short!

Bought (2) new (to me) putters this year - a very rare occurrence for me.  Almost never sell or trade my putters, like to hang onto them in case I want a different look.

I've had the same Ping Anser that was the first putter my Dad bought about 50 years ago.  Shaving a stroke or two off my score isn't as important to me as the feeling of using a tool my Dad used.

Just bought a new putter this year, first time in at least 7 years.  I don’t change putters without a really good reason. I find one that works and I stay with it until it no longer does, or I find one by accident that works better.

irons however, are a different story going through at least 2-3 sets a year and often times more.

I wish it was putters and not irons!

New, or new to me?  New, never.  New to me, maybe one every few years and more just for the hunt rather than being a gamer, then just sell it.  My Yes! has been a staple in my bag for around 12 or so years (so much so, I picked up a mint one for a back up bag), the Tank has been main gamer for past 2 while having it for 6 years now.

In 2021 I've bought 10 to 15 putters, I've lost count honestly. Only 3 have been custom, the rest eBay or BST buys but a lot of those putters have been catch and release just to try either the putter or something on the putter I want to factor into a custom build. I still may order 1 more this year.

Lifetime wise, I think putters have 500K birdies in them.  I’ve probably have 2000 birdies on current flat stick so plenty of life left in it!
