A few years back my friends son was battling brain cancer and he got a wish through the Make-a-Wish foundation. He chose to go to the Masters. When Streelman heard this story he had the kid caddie for him in the Par 3 tournament and hosted the family. I know he’s not the most well known guy out there but I know I’ll always be pulling for him after that and hope he plays well tomorrow.
(the son is also now doing well, health wise, and Streelman keeps in touch).

Man, that's what it's all about.  Thanks for sharing.

I like to think that we all do things like this. I think we do if we can.

We do these things without hesitation and without scrutinizing whether or not the other person is “like” us or thinks the ways we do.

But let’s all try to be this way with each other *besides when there’s so much on the line for our fellow neighbor.

Im speaking to myself as much as anyone else.

Thank you for sharing that ; )

I have listened to Phil for a number of years now talking about how he struggles mentally with the game which is exactly why a golfers game deteriorates in their early 40's.  He said he can't focus, has poor course management, isn't committed to shots, putts poorly, etc.  He has been addressing these issues somehow I've heard and when I see him play now, he hesitates quite a bit I think to try to gain commitment and focus on everything he is doing.  It must be tough.  I bet he was mentally exhausted after today's round.  But kudo's to him to have gotten this far.  I would love to see him win, but would not bet on it.

I am thinking it is going to be either Phil or Brooks.  Louie, as much as I love watching that smooth swing, has one glaring weakness it seems:  the putter.   He has never won on US soil on a regular PGA Tour event, let alone a major here.  He is just too tentative with the flat stick and there are some great putters in this field.  Brooks is typically an aggressive and fearless putter, but today he looked a little tentative.  I don't expect that will be the case tomorrow.  Phil has control of his game and he is great under pressure as well.  Someone may come from the back of the pack if those two stumble, but it will take a round like Conners had on Thursday for someone who is five or six back to win.  I am rooting for Phil.  A 50 year old winning a major on that monster golf course would be great for the game.

You apparently didn’t see how many Phil left laying on the lip or running over the lip today.  Flip it around.  If Phil makes those he’s -11 at least right now .

it’s all ifs and butts.  Brooks will need help to win.   If Phil plays like today minus the water ball , Brooks won’t win.  His putter is ice cold.  Phil’s is on the verge of catching flame. Huge difference.

Well said👍

Mickelson is leading this week because he is hitting the driver in the fairway. Driver accuracy is not the best part of his game, but one of the top players leading in strokes gained off the tee this week. It is going to be a great final round. Overwhelming majority of fans will be rooting for Mickelson. That would be such a big story if he won.

Interestingly he's ranked #1 in SG Putting this year on the PGA tour.  He's been rolling it ok.  I think as others have said the Kiawah greens can make even the best a little tentative.

Watched all of it once the leaders teed off and yes Phil missed some putts, and I always root for him.  However if Brooks was in the lead going into tomorrow, he won’t let it slip, he is stone cold.  How do you figure Brooks will need help to win?  He’s 1 stroke back.  I would say Phil is more likely to hit a few errant shots, history has shown us that.  Plus there have been several instances just this year where Phil has a few good rounds and then has a shaky round.

All in for Phil. Remember Norman & Watson going for this too. Think Phil has more in the tank to get it done. Love the course. Pete Dye rules. BK is a cool anti-hero but Phil dealt with Tiger. So Phil only beats Phil.

Exactly. I don’t think Phil is going to sleep because he has to play with a guy that has won 8 tournaments.

All personal feelings about specific players aside, someone is going to win this by playing the best golf.
I usually don’t care much for this specific major, but this has been fun. Good course, nice scoreboard.
Personally, I’m hoping Oostie lights it up tomorrow.
